Sales QUESTIONS

What does the price of a swimming pool include?

– The design of the pool by your pools designer
– The engineering of your pool structure
– Pool certification and final approval
– All superior fittings
– All pump, filtration and initial chemical treatment
– Coping on pool edge
– Chemicals required for starting up the pool
– An estimate of any footings if we think that they will be required

What is not included in the price?

– Any changes to the size of the pool or changes to the equipment
– Any extra steel footing or peering that may be required by the engineer
– Provision of power to the filter area (usually provide 2 double power points – 15amp back to fuse box with a separate fuse)
– Connection of the backwash line into either sewer or storm water

How long will it take to build my pool and what is the procedure?

The engineering and council approval will take approximately 3-4 weeks from the date the deposit is received.

The construction commencement onsite will start within 30 days from date of Development Permit being issued.

Approximate Construction Timeframe – Subject to Weather
– Week 1 & 2: Excavation, steel reinforcement, internal plumbing, concrete shell spray
– Week 3: Run plumbing lines and fit filtration system
– Week 4: Cap pool and lay coping tiles
– Minimum 28 days from concrete spray: Install pebble interior (subject to pool fence certification)
– Within 10 working days from pebble interior: Add pool chemicals, commission equipment and handover.

Start up and hand over complete the construction. From start of excavation to handover takes approximately 6-8weeks.

How do I ensure my pool is easy to care for?

Firstly design a pool with good distribution of water, then include the following:
– A pump with a good flow rate
– Oversize the filter to give efficient filtering of the water
– Install and automatic chemical dosing system (A salt water chlorinator will efficiently treat your pool water and will automatically clean itself)
– Install an automatic robotic cleaning device to clean the bottom of your pool
– Arrange for a monthly service call to check all equipment and balance the water

How much does it cost to operate a swimming pool?

The running of the filter pump is the main cost. A 750 watt pump will cost approximately 10c an hour to run and needs to run for approximately 6-8hrs per day for 365 days a year. The salt water chlorinator requires constant level of salt (approximately 1/10 the consistency of sea water). Rain water will dilute the salt level and most pools require approximately six bags of salt per year costing around $10/bag.

The total balance of water should be checked monthly; some stabiliser, bi-carb and calcium hardness may need to be added.

The average pool should cost approximately $450 to operate yearly.

Technical QUESTIONS

Why use a salt water chlorinator?

Salt water chlorinators are a very easy way to treat the pool water and are very inexpensive to operate. A salt water chlorinator will add chlorine to the pool water gently during the filtration period and are an extremely safe way to treat your pool so you don’t have to leave dangerous chlorine lying around your home.

Can pools by Design assist with landscaping and fencing?

Yes we can help with both. Pools by Design can recommend what fencing is required to satisfy the regulations and give you an approximate price for the fencing, which can be included into the pool pricing. Pools by Design can help you with general landscaping ideas and then organise an associated landscaper to finalise the design and provide you with a final price. Pools by Design will co-ordinate the timing of both the fencing and landscaping for your convenience.

Does Pools by Design teach me how to maintain my future pool?

Yes we will teach you how to look after your new pool. When the pool is completed we will give you a complete lesson on how to operate all of the equipment provided and instruct you about the water treatment. We will provide you with an instruction sheet which provides full information.

What approvals are needed? Do I need I need permission from my neighbours?

If you meet all of the requirements of a Complying Development Certificate, you do not need to notify your neighbours about your swimming pool installation plans. Should your swimming pool construction project require a Development Application, your neighbours will be notified via council. Millennium Pools follow the strict Building Code of Australia guidelines and will organise all required certificates and approvals with council to ensure a streamlined process.

Which filtration system is best?

Chlorine filtration systems are the longest standing system available on the market and is considered by many to the most effective way to reduce bacteria in the water. Salt is also a popular option, producing chlorine in smaller doses and considered to be less harmful to the skin. Millennium Pools harnesses minerals and its superior technology reduces bacteria and is gentler on the skin with a number of added health and energy saving benefits.

Billing QUESTIONS

What is included in the initial cost of purchasing a pool?

An Millennium Pools design consultant will give you a good understanding of all costs associated with building and owning an in-ground pool. They will also help you understand how the cost will be affected by the materials, water features, equipment and overall size of the pool area.Standard pricing will also vary based on ease of access, municipal requirements, backyard topography, possible demolition needs prior to building the pool and local permit costs. Much of the initial expense will be based on what is called the “hardscape”. Hardscape is what is placed around the pool. The size and materials used in decks, patios, waterfalls, gazebos, planter walls and many other features can be simple or sensational. You have the greatest influence on the total budget based on the design of your hardscape.

Why do cost estimates vary when pools seem to be the same?

The cost of a pool is determined by more than the size and shape of the pool. Some builders will cut corners on various aspects of the pool. Compromising on workmanship, quality of materials, design, underground strength, ease of maintenance, warranties, and service are easy places to lower your price—while lowering the quality of your investment at the same time! Be sure to get as much information as possible about how the pool will be built and exactly what equipment is being recommended. Also remember that Millennium Pools never submits low estimates with the intent to increase prices during construction. Millennium Pools estimates incorporate the highest quality materials, craftsmanship, design and customer service.

How much will my utility bill increase if I get a pool?

average estimates show utility bills range between $20 – $40 per month, depending on the area of the country where you live.

Is the price you quoted the final price, or are there any potential add-ons or hidden costs?

Our prices are firm. The only way the price would go up or down is if you make changes to the specifications of the quote. For instance, adding a remote control system might be the kind of modification that would affect the cost if added after the fact.

How do i make payment for pool construction?

A down payment should never be more than 15% with any pool company in UAE. We generally require a $500 down payment unless scale and/or materials being ordered require a larger down payment.

The pool building payment schedule has been set up and mandated through statutes. The payment schedule is in stages and consists of a 25%-25%-25%-25% payment schedule. Payments are due after the completion of excavation, shotcrete, and decking. The final 25% is due once the pool has passed final inspection and is ready for its interior finish
